Dana Ashraf Osaily – Distinction Holder
What were your objectives in signing up for the workshop/programme?
As a junior treasury dealer, I wanted to complete the ACI Dealing Certificate to strengthen my technical understanding of financial markets and gain practical knowledge that complements my role in the Treasury. I also saw it as an opportunity to enhance my professional credibility, deepen my understanding of market instruments, and prepare myself for future academic and professional advancement in finance.
Which feature of the workshop/programme did you find most useful?
I found the foreign exchange (FX) topic to be the most useful, especially because it is highly relevant to daily treasury operations and financial market activities. The FX section helped me better understand exchange rate quotations, spot and forward transactions, swap structures, and the factors that influence currency movements.
What advice would you offer someone starting out on their journey towards ACI accreditation?
I would advise anyone starting the journey to stay patient and disciplined throughout the preparation process. At first, some topics may seem technical or overwhelming, especially for those without extensive market experience, but the material becomes much clearer with consistent study and practice. I would also encourage them to approach the certificate as a learning experience rather than just an exam, because the knowledge gained is genuinely valuable and applicable in real financial market environments.
